Stevenson: Scofield will be out of the fight

Shakur Stevenson is convinced that challenger Floyd Schofield can pull out of their fight on February 22nd, using some excuse that he dreamed of walking out of the match.

WBC lightweight champion Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) says Tim Schofield's allegations that he has a spy in camp to learn secrets, that he slashes tires, and messes with his passport are all signs he's on the way out.

Shakur predicted a pull-out

It's not a good idea for Stevenson to continue discussing his unproven theory about Kid Austin pulling out of the fight because he's talking about the match and it will lose the fans interest. He needs to talk about the fight and try to get the fans excited about it.

Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) doesn't seem intimidated by Stevenson, though, and feels confident he can take him down and beat the light-hitting champion. We don't know how much Shakur is going to hold up in the fight because he's coming off surgery on his right hand and he still didn't use that hand in training last week.

“It seems to me that they are trying to get out of the fight. They're saying, 'He's done all this,' and then when they don't show up to the fight, that's an excuse. They will try to blame me and say things that I did. To take some of the fake shots out of the fight,” Shakur Stevenson said Cigar talk About Floyd Schofield and his father.

“I don't have to. We're dealing with Kid Austin. I have already seen him fight. He's going to throw a big hard left hand,” Shakur said, when asked about Tim Schofield's claims that he believed Stevenson was a spy to get information about their training regimen.

“He (Schofield) is going to switch, and then throw a hard left hand over the top. He's going to throw a hard left hook. His right hand isn't really s***. It's science. Nothing new is going to happen. He won't hit anybody again,” said Shakur.

It would be interesting to know if Shakur really believes that Scofield is trying to get out of the fight, because it suggests that his belief is not based on reality. Stevenson is not a good judge of people, as it is clear that Kid Austin will not back down from the fight and sees this as his big opportunity. The money is good, and Floyd has a chance to make himself a star with a win.

What if Schofield was afraid?

“I don't need to do any extracurriculars to take advantage of it. I think he's scared, and I'm starting to fear he might pull out of the fight. I'm training my a** off, signed, and then you guys withdraw from the fight. That's some b***a**s*** bro,” said Shakur.

“I don't even see the tape (of Scofield). I already saw him. I know what to expect,” said Shakur.
