Terence Crawford posted a cryptic comment on x today about an unnamed fighter that he says “should have fought” Against him whenever he gets a chance.

Bud says that the mystery warrior no longer has a chance to fight him because “it's over now.” He seems bitter about the fighter, possibly Sebastian Fundora, not fighting him. Crawford could have fought Fundora, but she didn't.

Fans believe he is referring to Fundora, the WBC and WBC junior middleweight champion, who is in talks to fight Errol Spence.

The one in need here is Crawford, not Fundora as he needs a busy fight to keep him sharp unless he wants to sit out a tough year before fighting Alvarez in September.

If Crawford is serious about winning, he needs to tune up because this is going to be a much tougher fight than his last fight against Israel Madrimov. He can't beat Canelo, who is coming off a 13-month layoff against Madrimov.

Crawford wouldn't need Fundora if he was brave enough to move up to 168 to take on one of the top contenders. He should fight a top-five guy at super middleweight to prepare for Canelo, right? How is it usually not done?

If Crawford steps up and fights a contender at 168, he could lose and that could ruin Canelo's fight chances. Turki Al-Sheikh is likely still willing to go ahead with the Canelo-Crawford fight, but Canelo may veto the idea, knowing he would have to gain even less than what he has already made.

He already won't get credit for fighting Crawford because he's moving up two weight divisions from 154 to 168. Crawford also has age. He will turn 38 in September.

That means even less credit going to Canelo after beating him. So, it's understandable why Crawford wouldn't want to risk getting his feet wet at 168 by tuning-up against a contender instead of 154-pound champion Fundora.
