Bill Haney is confident that a rematch between Devin and Ryan Garcia will still happen even though they dropped their case eight months ago for his positive PED test for the banned substance Ostarine from their fight on April 20th.

According to Bill, the public will decide if there is a Devin vs. Garcia rematch and they want to see it. So, if they want to see it, the networks will make it happen. The case stands. They will not exclude it.

Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) seems interested in a rematch and often jokes about wanting to knock Haney down further with his left hook. The only thing that could get in the way of a second fight is if Devin fights someone else.

Bill thinks Devin has proven himself to be a world champion and can fight anyone he wants to. However, he has not done so since the loss to Garcia, suggesting he is waiting for his one-year suspension to expire in April 2025, hoping to get a rematch.

Bill is tight-lipped about his desire for a second fight right away, but he's easy to read. You can tell from the way he talks that a Garcia rematch is the only fight he and Devin want.

“Devin is a champion. Not Ryan Garcia. Oscar De La Hoya did not win the championship from Ryan Garcia,” said Bill Haney Fight Hub TV When asked if their lawsuit against Ryan would affect their ability to get a rematch.

“Devin wants to fight whoever people want to see, but he wants it to be on a level playing field. We do it for people. They pay the bills, not the promoters,” Bill said of why they would want a rematch with Ryan.

“If the fans want to watch the fight, there's a network that wants to put it on. Oscar De La Hoya's days of saying whatever he wants are over. He said there was no need for a rematch, but he wasn't listening to people. That's the fake narrative he's creating as if people aren't calling for it,” Bill said.

Garcia's win is dismissed

It's a mistake for Haney to walk out of the ring with Ryan without fighting anyone, and for his father, Bill, to frequently talk about the positive test. If Bill believes he's erasing fans' memories of Devin by mentioning this, he's wasting his time.

The New York State Athletic Commission erased Haney's loss to Garcia, changing it to a no-contest due to his positive test for Osterin. But the Bills can't erase the image of beating Ryan from fans' memories, citing positive tests 24/7. That's not going to work. He can't whitewash what happened by constantly dredging it up in every interview and mentioning it on social media.

It just makes Bill and Devin look like painful losers because fans don't believe Ryan won because of Osterin. They just think Haney has a glass chin, can't punch and wasn't that good in the first place.

“The biggest thing is drug testing,” Bill said when asked about deciding what the weight would be for the rematch between Devin and Ryan. “He said he was crazy. So, if you're crazy enough to do it the first time, you'll be crazy enough to do it the second time. That's Steeler, who enrolls in a (drug testing) program.

“It would be an insult to put something on the table where you're going to be the A-side and we're going to be the B-side. They knew it was an insult,” said Bill Haney, adding that Bob Aram made Devin an offer to fight Teofimo Lopez.
