TASS and Novosti news agencies have stated that the talks began in the capital Riyadh. The meeting is expected to be followed by another contact between the US and Ukraine teams.

Special meetings are planned to discuss the details of the attacks from both Russia and Ukraine, against energy facilities and civil infrastructure, as well as stopping attacks in the Black Sea.

Ukraine and Russia have agreed on a limited ceasefire, after US President Donald Trump spoke to the leaders of the countries. But the parties suggested different views on what goals would be attacked and accused of disrupting each other, which began on March 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine.
