Promoter Eddie Hearn says he spoke to Keyshawn Davis last night and was “blowing him up” about Andy Cruz following the Cuban talent's victory over Omar Salcido at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Hearn reminded Kissen that he had fought Cruz four times as an amateur and had lost each time. He told Davis he had one “mental block” From that loss and are haunted by memories. It did something to him.
2020 Olympic gold medalist Cruz (5-0, 2 KOs) is meeting a talented opponent to quickly land a world title and get him the belt quickly.
He made Salcido (20-2, 14 KOs) look easy last night, besting him by scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92 in a 10-round unanimous decision. Salcido is a very good fighter, but he was out of his league against Cruz.
“I was shutting down Kishun. i like him He was saying, 'You know I beat him (Andy Cruz). You know I beat him.' I said, 'Mate, he's in your head. You've got an emotional block with Andy Cruz. You know you can't beat him. You fought him four times, and never beat him.' 'Well, it was among the amateurs.' 'See you're angry again.' I was just shutting him down,” Eddie Hearn told Two IFL TVDiscussing his conversation with Keyshon Davis about how he has problems with Cuban talent Andy Cruz.
“Andy is brilliant. I think people forget how good Salcido was too. I think he's going to get better against better opponents,” Cruz continued about Cruz. “I think sometimes he switches off when he gets bored when he knows how easy it is, and he's really good.
“The IBF,” Hearn said when asked where he was taking Cruz. “If Loma retires, it will be Abdullaev against Muratalla, where it is for the interim anyway, and Andy is next in line.”
Andy Cruz will be a good fight against the winner of Raymond Muratalla vs. Zaur Abdullaev, but it won't be any more competitive than last night's opponent, Omar Salcido. Muratalla is a slugger with only one weapon, his right arm. Cruz used to school him.
Abdullayev will not be a rival at all. They could also give Cruz the IBF belt if he faces the winner of the Muratalla vs. Abdullayev fight. The top ranks will likely block Muratalla from fighting Cruz if he gets his hands on the IBF belt.
“It depends on Keyshawn Davis,” Hearn said when asked how far along the fight between Andy Cruz and Keyshawn is. “Keyshawn is going to fight (WBO lightweight champion Dennis) Berinchyk (next). It's an easy fight. So, he won it and became the WBO world champion.
“Give me another fight in the lightweight division out of the tank. He's 140 pounds,” Hearn said when the interviewer mentioned Teofimo Lopez as an option to fight Keyshon after he captures the WBO lightweight title from Berinchik on Feb. 14.
The same goes for the Muratalla-Abdullahev fight. Top Rank promotes Keyshawn Davis, and they wouldn't want to allow him to fight Andy Cruz, knowing that he would more than likely lose. They are trying to make Keyshawn their next star through careful matchmaking.
Furthermore, he has repeatedly denied fighting Cruz. So, it's not just the top ranks who don't want this fight. Kishon has to be dragged into the ring to fight Cruz because he knows that if he fights him, his career will be permanently ruined. Keyshawn is a classic example of a hype job. Let's get that out there.
Fighting will bring to light what Cruz Keyshon is, and he will fight that fight with every bit of his strength. Top location will probably help. If Kishan gets his hands on the WBO belt next month, he will vacate it when Cruz becomes his mandatory challenger and orders the fight. That is my prediction.
“There are two fights that people will say, 'I'm more interested than Andy Cruz.' It's Tank, which I don't think is going to happen this year,” Hearn continued. “They're not going to fight any more than Keyshawn Davis, a good one Tell the narrative, more competitively.
You heard right. Cruz is the best fight out there for Kyshawn, but he's wrong if he thinks it will happen. Eddie is not an American, and he does not know the people of the United States very well. Keyshawn is so easy to read. He wants an easy life and money, and he will never fight Cruz again.
“So, for me, I think it's a natural fight. They fought four times. Andy Cruz wins every time,” said Hearn. “He calls him his son, and the build-up is going to be great. It's a great fight, and it's a 50-50 fight. Keyshawn looks really good. He has great professional experience now and Andy only has five fights.”
Cruz is going to make Keyshon look like the authentic duck he is and fans will notice. He will always see #2. It doesn't matter how well Top Rank tricks Keyshon into looking better than he is.
“Andy just beat Salcido tonight. (Antonio) Moran last time. He's fast moving, and he's a hell of a talent,” Hearn said.
