Former WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tzu could face Joe Spencer in April in Australia. It will be a confidence booster for the 29-year-old Sijiu (24-2, 17 KOs), who has lost his last two fights, going 0-2 In 2024.

Spencer will be a comeback fight to prepare him for a possible clash against Keith Thurman. That's if Thurman wins his March 12 fight against Brock Jarvis in Sydney. Former WBC and WBA welterweight champion Thurman was scheduled to fight last year on March 30, but pulled out with a biceps injury.

A must fight

Before last year's upset, TJ would have been seen as the overwhelming favorite to go up against Spencer (19-1, 11 KO), but not anymore. This should be seen as a 50-50 fight as Sojiu has shown that he is incapable of making simple adjustments during battle.

It's a must-win for TJU because if he can't beat Joe Spencer at 24, he needs to seriously think about retirement because he's not a top-level 154-pounder. He was destroyed by Jesus Ramos in seven rounds on March 25, 2023.

Spencer has since defeated three unranked name-fighters to build himself up a bit. He's yet to prove he's working at world-class skills, but it looks good enough to be selected as Tzu's come-back fight in April.

The Murtazliev disaster

TJU was knocked out in three rounds by IBF junior middleweight champion Bakhram Murtazliev on October 19 last year in an embarrassing four-knockdown loss at Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

Murtazliev revealed after the fight that he was fighting with an injured right hand and was forced to use his left. That proved to be enough, as he repeatedly dropped Tzu with that punch until the referee finally waved it off in the third round.

Bakhram's primary weapon is his powerful right hand. You can only imagine what the fight would have been like if he had his work cut out for him. TJU probably won't make it out of the first round.

Sajiu lost to 6'5″ Sebastian Fundora via a 12-round split decision on March 30 of last year. Going into that fight, Tojiu was supposed to potentially fight Terence Crawford in what would have been a big money fight, but Fundora ruined everything.
