McDonald's is introducing Pokemon Happy Meals in the US

McDonald's extremely popular Pokemon Happy Meals are back.

US restaurants The fast-food giant said it started selling limited-time, themed Happy Meals on Tuesday and will continue offering them while supplies last.

“There's nothing more exciting than providing our fans with campaigns with partners we're fans of,” Guillaume Huin, McDonald's chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Just as they do for McDonald's, our fans have a deep nostalgia and love for the Pokémon brand.”

According to McDonald's, those who order Happy Meals “will have the chance to discover a variety of Pokemon, including fan-favorite Dragon-type Pokemon.”

This will be possible thanks to a four-card Pokemon trading card game “booster” pack, poster and stickers that accompany Happy Meals.

Thanks to a partnership with Pokemon Company International, the fast-food giant said there are 15 different Pokemon trading cards available to Happy Meal shoppers — each featuring a different Pokemon.

McDonald's customers can also expect their Happy Meal boxes to play Pokemon on them. Three versions of the boxes contain one Pokemon – Charizard, Rayquaza or Roaring Moon – while another contains the likes of Pikachu and Dragonite, McDonald's said.

The fast-food giant has paired up Happy meals with Pokemon cards many times in the past. For example, in 2021, companies gave out packs of Pokemon trading cards in Happy Meals with Pikachu in boxes to celebrate Pokemon's 25th anniversary. Fox News Digital reported on this.
